amazon kindle
RedThread asked:

My mother-in-law bought my father-in-law an Amazon Kindle for Christmas, and now they want my help to make it work.

They are rural and thus outside of Sprint’s EVDO network, which is required to download content over the air.

So, my question is this:

Can you buy Kindle - programmed books on Amazon, download them to your PC, and then transfer them to the Kindle via a USB cable or some other cable?

I haven’t seen the Kindle or the box it came in to see if there were instructions or any cables included. Just my mother-in-law calling me on the phone asking me to help her with no working knowledge of the gadget.

Perhaps Kindle has an online support page or some place to get this kind of information online.

My mother-in-law thanks for your help. :-)
